There are folks out there who like to get riled up. I am one of them. Ironically, what I get riled up about the MOST is when people forget that the key definition of ‘opinion’ is “a personal view, attitude, or appraisal.”

Personal means it’s mine. And I can do what I want with it. You can’t. You’re welcome to your OWN opinion, but as soon as your opinion is all about MY opinion, (i.e. how ignorant it is, how stupid it is, etc.) you are in No Man’s Land and you might get proverbially shot.

No Man’s Land

The area between the allied and enemy trenches. So called because nobody was supposed to be able to survive in this territory because it was swept constantly by machine gun and sniper fire.

So, let’s review.

Opinion (n.) :

1. a belief or judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty.
2. a personal view, attitude, or appraisal.
